CANNING RIVER RAFTING FLOAT TRIP IN ALASKA – 11 days
Join us on a leisurely rafting float trip in Alaska down the Canning River through the rich scenery and wildlife diversity of the North Slope of Alaska’s Brooks Range.
We begin on the north side of the Arctic Divide and float north between mountain ranges full of wonderful wildlife habitat. Home to falcons, hawks, loons and many more of the 180 bird species that have been spotted in these wild lands, we will float among river bluffs on emerald waters. You can see fish swimming past us in the clear water and we may find ancient hunting sites as we layover to hike the bluffs.
The terrain is some of the best in the Brooks Range for hiking. With the 24-hour summer sun, we’ll have more than enough light to keep us busy.
Our schedule is peaceful with a minimum of 2, possibly 3 days to stay in camp or explore an overlooking mountain or river tributary.
